Everyone is born to parents. And for whatever reason, some people are unable to care for their children. 35 years ago, Brazil was so impoverished that were over 14 million abandon children walking the streets. It was a horrible situation. Adoption has been a way to help solve this problem. During WWII, Britain moved all the children out of London into the countryside to save their lives. London was being bombed daily and so many people were dying. Children are our future. A friend of mine started a orphanage in Guatemala. He and his wife pastored a church here in Louisiana. They went to Guatemala on a trip and saw the abject poverty. In the trash dump in the capital city they found 30,000 children living. It moved them so much, that they resigned their church and moved down to Guatemala to open an orphanage. They have been there over 20 years. The children not only found a home, they ate regularly, became healthy and finished high school. Then to their surprise, most of the children went to college and graduated. These children are leading their country instead of being an army killing their own people. Adoption is about grace and mercy. When your heart is moved by compassion and do something about it. It is not unlike another person, who looked at us and was moved with compassion. He looked on us as sheep without a shepherd. Knowing that we needed help so badly. He came and paid the price to bring us back into the fold. That price being His life. No greater love has any man than He would lay down His life for another. And He did it by grace and mercy. Hallelujah!!!
