Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him as God loved Him. Peter answered and said, I love you like a brother. Jesus asked Peter 3 times if he loved Him like God loves. When Jesus looked at the people coming to Him to receive from Him, He was moved by compassion or love. When a pharisee asked Jesus what the greatest commandments where. Jesus replied to love God with your whole heart, mind and strength. Then He said the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus came because of the love of the Father for us. Then Jesus expressed His love for us by dying on the cross. He said that true love is one who lays down his life for another. The bond of love is stronger than anything else on this earth. You may lose interest in someone but the love that bonded you together doesn’t fade away. Your heart is the image and likeness of God. And the emotion of love is the strongest emotion that we have. And it can cause the greatest pain or joy in your life. This is how God loves us. Through the joy and pain, God doesn’t give up on us. God has bonded with each of us through love. I asked God to show me what the torment of hell is. He said it was the love of God that the people in hell couldn’t share in. Jesus said if you love Me, you will keep my commandments. He also said that the love of God is shred abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. If you have ever met Jesus, you would know what the love of God is all about and would be bonded to Him. So, I ask you a question, do you love Jesus like God loves? If you do, then keep His commandments.

In Numbers chapter 6, Moses talked about the vow of a Nazarite. He called it the days of separation. It was because the person, male or female, separated themselves to God to receive from Him. And if they broke the vow or fast, there was a specific thing they must do. For the person to become right with God again, they must perform a burnt offering, a sin offering and a peace offering. The burnt offering was a lamb. The sin offering was 2 turtle doves, and the peace offering was a goat. The burnt offering is dying to oneself and offering the blood, our life, to God. The sin offering is killing one dove and sprinkling the blood on the living. It is the old man dying and the new man being cleansed. The peace offering is the transferring of our sins to the goat that is led away in the wilderness to die, to be reconciled back to God. So, what does this have to do with me? This is how we are born again. Now the days of separation are about prayer and fasting. Jesus said not to let people see that you are fasting and praying. It is a private matter between you and God. But make no mistake, it is a vow. And God says that anyone who makes a vow and breaks it, it is better that they were never born. We are justified by the words of our mouth. That is why God says that life and death in the power of the tongue. This is all about sanctification. That is the purifying of ourselves to God. This process is a lifetime journey. We are called to be separate from this world and touch not the unclean thing. It is time that the church, the body of Christ stand up and be counted and separate themselves from the world.

I wrote a book about my relationship with God and Jesus. It is a journey about how I built a relationship pursuing God and His righteousness. When I began, I basically knew about God. My knowledge was limited. But I wanted to know God and be able to speak to Him and clearly hear Him.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 KJV.

I have come a long way with God. I chronicled my journey in this book. It is an easy read, but enjoyable. I hope that it will encourage you to begin your journey with God and develop a strong relationship with God, in Jesus name.

This word means many things to different people. Despite what you think it means, distress seems to be growing larger in people these days. If you listen to people, you will hear them complaints about more things than not. You will hear how bad this president is or the economy or the virus and last but not least there is no hope. I have a question. Where are the Christians in all this? Distress is normal in our lives. Without it we wouldn’t grow and move forward. It is not there to stop us or defeat us. Distress is there to propel us to the next level of our lives. The Apostle Paul talked about distress all the time. He didn’t say it defeated him. Paul said he overcame them. The Apostle Peter call them the fiery trials of faith. So what do we do? We faced the distress, no matter the pain, or sorrow, or grief in our lives and walk through to the other side. Only to find out that God has already gone through the trial before us. And that we are kept by the hand of God as we walk along.

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:” 1 Peter 4:12.

It’s funny at my age, there are more friends and family dying than being born. Death is a painful process. We suffer the loss of someone in our lives. Maybe we didn’t take advantage of our relationship to the fullest. There is always regret. My dad and I didn’t have a good relationship while I was growing up. I was 28 years old before he and I reconciled our differences. And then it was by the hand of God that it happened. God gave me 6 years of fellowship with my dad before he died. Never wait to correct a situation. We don’t know how long of time that we have. It was a whole lot easier to fix the situation with God than without. A long time friend passed away last night. My wife and I have known them, her and her husband and family for 40 years. I remember that she was always kind to us and the boys. Her children are about the same age as ours. I have no doubt that she made it into heaven. But all of us left behind will miss her. As God says in the bible, precious in His sight is the death of one of His saints.

Too often we think of ourselves more than we should. It’s the I generation. It’s all about the me, myself and I. Everything is instant. If you have tasted some of the instant products, they taste like cardboard. That includes life itself. The instant is only temporary and not to palatable. But man wants what he wants. It doesn’t make any difference if it kills you. My life was going downhill in a hurry. I couldn’t stop it. I knew that I needed help. God brought me to the place where I was a sinner separated from God. Then He saved me through His grace and Jesus Christ. So I became a sinner saved by grace. The grace of God cleaned me up and put on the right road to heaven. People have mocked me, thinking that I was holier than thou. I look at them and say, I’m forgiven, not perfect yet. God says not to think more highly of yourself than you ought. Paul said he was the chiefist of sinners. So who am I, a sinner saved by grace.

My book on Prayer will be released on October 11. It consists of 20 chapters about my journey from the beginning of my walk with God until now. It shows how I developed a relationship with God as I learned how to talk to and hear from God. It also shows how as I studied and learned the scriptures; my faith grew in the Lord. God set down in the scriptures what is expected of man. As we learned of God and grow in the wisdom and understanding of the Word of God, we will develop a strong relationship with God. All of this depends on our willingness to pursue God. When I first came to the Lord, I was a servant and happy to be one. As I read the Word of God, I learned that I was a son and a joint heir with Jesus. With the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, I received the power of God to work in the kingdom of God. As my faith grew, I was able to take on more task that the Holy Spirit assigned to me. Prayer is communication with God and being able to be in God’s presence. This is what I always wanting from the beginning of my walk with God. God is my Father and Jesus is my older Brother. God knows what man is like and what he will do. So, God made it simple for us to follow Jesus all the way home.

Most people don’t understand that God feels the pain of sorrow. Because God is All-powerful and All-knowing, We think that God doesn’t react to anything that happens. We are the image and likeness of God. Because of that we have the emotions of God. All the emotions that we go through God goes through. The only difference is that he has the power to do something about it. If you read The Bible through the history of the Israelites, you see and understand how God sorrows. There are so many examples of how God sorrows. But the worst of all is when he had to looked upon his Son hanging on the cross. The Bible says that Godly sorrow leads to repentance. To repent you have to truly sorrow that you hurt God. It isn’t just because you got caught. Godly sorrow is what leads us to righteousness. Next time you wanna do your own thing think about God and what he goes through. Then think about the pain that you cause Him because of it. Righteousness and sorrow go hand-in-hand. When you sorrow before God, He will begin to move in our lives. If you want revival, it will only come through heart felt sorrow.
