Daniel in the bible was an interesting man. He was going to be true to himself and especially to God. He was a prince of Israel and held high office in Assyrian government. He wasn’t a stranger to controversy. Under each king of Persia, Daniel defied them when it went against God. Whether it was eating the king’s food or his subordinates being thrown into a fiery furnace or being thrown into the lion’s den. Daniel would follow God even if it killed him. The kings of Persia made Daniel an important man and very wealthy. Today, even the Muslims believe that Daniel was one of their major prophets. But he didn’t care about all the things the kings of earth could do for him. Daniel was only concerned with what God did for him. The story of redemption is all through the bible. There are many stories anyone can read. It is funny, how all the great people of God all had to be redeemed. No matter how great you are, the only place to begin is God’s redemption. Do you know why people would hold the sign John 3:16 at sports events? Because what it says is true. And it says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (KJV). Redemption is the first step into living the right life in this world and in the next world. And all you have to do is to ask for it.
