The Journey Home

Who are we and what are we doing here on this earth? The age old question that everyone tries to answer. It sometimes takes all of our lives to answer that question. But it’s not the answer that counts, it’s the struggle to answer the question. In other words, it is the journey home that really counts. What is the journey home? What am I talking about when I say the journey? Our lives are made up of choices we make in everyday life. Each of those choices change the direction of our lives. We are not on the same path that we were on yesterday. It is because of our choices. Good or bad, our choices are our own. No one forced us to make those choices. We decided that this way is better than that way and we made a choice. Sometimes we regret the choice we made, but it is our own fault.

The journey is to get us from this place to home as quickly as possible. The shortest distance from point A to point B is a straight line. But our lives never go in a straight line. There are always twists and turns in our lives. So we have to keep walking until we reach home. It takes persistence and courage to keep walking home. In other words, it takes faith, hope and trust to walk home.

And what is that faith, hope and trust in to reach home? That’s a good question. Let’s take a minute and talk about our destination, home. We are not of this world. We were placed on this world to prove a point and to develop ourselves into someone that person who deserves to go home. There are only 2 destinations, heaven or hell. Heaven is our true home and hell was made to hold the devil and his hordes. It is our choice which place we are going to. We have to choose on our walk which place we will end up in.

What is the choice we have to make? That choice is to follow God and Jesus all the way home.
