War and Peace…

War and Peace is a novel written by Leo Tolstoy in 1869. It show life in Moscow when Napoleon attacks Russia. It’s a moral play about the purpose of life. The book is 1400 pages long. There are many plots and twists in the book. A lot of people say this is why it is difficult to read the book. It is considered a masterpiece in literature. Tolstoy wrote the book to show everyday life, despite the war.

Everyday life has not changed since the beginning of time. Children grow up and marry, have children, who have children and so on and so on. The only thing that has changed over the years is our technology. I was watching this farmer who has a YouTube show. He lives in up state New York. He has a small farm of 45 acres. His passion is restoring old Farmall tractors. His latest video was at Tractor show. It had over a hundred years of tractors, from steam to gasoline to diesel. All the tractors did the same thing, but the technology kept improving. The stream tractors were almost as large as trains. Where the gasoline and diesel ones kept getting smaller. Now tractors are getting bigger again. But life goes on.

Everyone can remember the crazy guy on street corners holding a sign saying the world is ending. As he tries to convince people to prepare for the end of the world. Everyone thought he was crazy and paid him no mind. If you are old enough to remember the Y2K pending disaster. All digital framework was based on Cobalt code. When year 2000 was going to come, all digital framework was going to reset itself to the year 1900. Had not the people figured out how to change the computer language, it would have a disaster. But life goes on.

Everyday life counts on all situations being normal. And if the situation changes, it seems that our life becomes tenuous. Thus the Covid-19 pandemic. There are still lasting effects from the pandemic. And I am not talking about the medical side of it. People became deathly afraid. Many people did die from complications of the virus. But depression settled on people and it still hasn’t gone away. So how do we counter these abnormal situations? In all my life I have found only one way to counter the end of the world as we know it. That is to have peace in your heart. Not the peace that man brings, because it doesn’t last. It is the peace that only God can bring to your heart. And the only door to the peace of God is through Jesus Christ. It is when we surrender our lives to Him and let the peace reign and rule in our lives.

Onomatopoeia.

Shall I use the powerful P’s to describe the tingling sensation of properly placed words in a blog? Since I have already written an article about the P’s, I will use some new tantalizing words to describe my writing. Can’t you hear the sizzling new words hot off the griddle? I have been told and believe to this fragrant day that words are food for the soul. You can entice people to delicious meal with words. Or starve them off with same words. It is on how you present your message. They can pop with excitement or fade into a funk. I have written articles that smell so bad you would think someone passed some gas. I destroyed those articles as quickly and unceremoniously as I vaporized them for the good of humanity. Maybe it is time for the powerful P’s. As I ponder my prodigious predicament, I re-evaluated my writing style and came to a conclusion. I will put forth a preposterous statement of prodigious proportion. Ow, I feel good. Today is a most ponderously beautiful day. As one of my beloved sons was in college, it behooved me to tell him how he can write beautiful essay. I told him to write as you speak. The glamorization of the grammar can come after he writes the article. You can express your inner self easier as evaluating someone concocted or contrived story. When I say who are you that is the person you know best. So learning how to relate yourself to this relatively refined world will take some time. But if you apply yourself to the process, it will produce applicable results. And the results will go pop, pop and fizz, fizz. And you will be relieved with the results. Onomatopoeia.

The Fourth of July.

This is the day that our fore fathers declared our Independemce from England for multiple reason. It was the first time that our nation wrote down a list of freedoms that we wanted and were willing to fight for. One thing that the founding fathers wrote was the all men are created equal. It was the first time in history that was written down. But sadly it took almost 200 years this to become true in American life. There are many rights and laws written down that we still struggle for. The founding fathers wrote down many things that had not come true, knowing that we as nation would have to fight for thoses rights. The expression, Freedom is not free, is true for all Americans. The responsibility each American bears to preserve those God-given rights is on going. This is why we as a nation have had so many wars.

It seems that when the next generation forgets what freedom is about, we have a war. Wars seems to correct our attitudes about our responsibilities we are to bear for this nation. Preserving our freedoms is not the other fellow business. we are responsible to this nation and our fellowman to carry the load. How many family members served voluntarily or were drafted into the military. Since the founding of this country, my family has served to defend it’s principles. What we all have learned is that the struggle is just as important as the peace. It defines who we are as a people. So, as you enjoy your family get together with bar-b-que or whatever food you choose, remember the men and women who gave their lives or their youth for you to enjoy your Fouth of July.
