Galatians 2 – Justification by Faith. vs.1-10 – Paul began his ministry 14 years after his conversion. At this time many Pharisees followed the faith and where teaching that Gentiles had to follow the law, as well as the doctrines
of Christ. Paul, Barnabas and Titus went to Jerusalem to talk to Peter, James and John about what Jesus was doing. Paul refuted the Judaizers. vs.7 – Paul was to preach the gospel to the uncircumcised, while Peter was to preach to the circumcised. vs.10 – Here Paul shared the need of helping the poor saints in Jerusalem, just as he did in Corinth. vs.11-21 – Peter, in Antioch, was living like the Gentiles. Then some Jewish brethren came from Jerusalem, he separated himself from the Gentiles for fear of the Jews. Paul saw this hypocrisy and rebuked Peter in front of all the brethren, Justification is by faith and not by the works of the law. It is by faith that we are in Christ. We are dead, so that Christ can work in and through us.
