Free Will.

God wants us to stop playing games with him, to be on fire for Him, and to say no to sin! This is a wake up call for all of us! Jesus is coming back very soon! We need to make a chose, who we will serve! God or the devil! By not choosing we made a chose to serve the devil.
Let’s all examine ourselves and asked God to show us. Amen

Revelation 3:15 – “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other!
3:16 – But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!
3:17 – You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

Faithfulness.

The act and ability of being faithful. It’s an old fashion word, that seems to have been lost in translation. We look for faithful people in this world. Because we know that we can trust them. Today in America, the divorce rate is about 50%. Where is the faithfulness? We look at Congress and we see a group that has broken faith with the American people. We want faithful people in our lives to feel secure. The bible says there is no one righteous, all have sinned and gone astray. Which means we can’t put our trust in any human being. Then who can we trust? There is only one we can trust with our heart. In 2 Timothy 2:13 “If we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: Jesus cannot deny Himself.”

Forgiveness, works both ways.

When ever Jesus taught the disciples to pray, He always taught forgiveness. People who have wronged us, we need to forgive. It’s not always easy, depending on what they did. But that’s not what God says. The disciples asked Jesus, how often do we forgive a person. The disciples said 7 times a day. Jesus said 70×7 in a day. God wants our hearts to be open to recieve from God and man. Jesus called the religious leaders hard hearted. They had closed their hearts and minds to the truth of God’s word. What God is looking for is an open heart to do His will on this earth. Right after Jesus taught the disciples to pray, He said forgive. So, that your heavenly Father can forgive you. Our forgiveness depends on us forgiving others. Then you can ask God for whatever. (Matthew 6).

Actual Prayer.

God has a way that we can get to Him. Ever since Adam, God has wanted man to walk with Him, as a father does. My sons are men and make up their own minds. But I want my sons and daughter in laws to be able to come and talk to me about anything. My wife and I had all the family over for Christmas, including the in laws. My house was full and we had gumbo and sides for dinner. We had presents for all, especially for my grandsons. They stayed until sundown. Everyone had a good time. We talked to each other about everything. This is what actually praying is. Talking with our Father and staying in His presence. Enjoying being with God and developing our relationship. Our Father wants us to walk with Him in the cool of the evening.

Prayer as a Lifestyle.

I was looking at my Facebook page, on the page she was describing how muslims pray 5 times a day. Then she talked about the Jews praying 3 times a day. Then she asked how many times do you pray a day? She is right about it being a lifestyle. I have had many different lifestyles before I met Jesus. But, none of them was praying to God. Praying is talking to God. My conversations with my parents were sometimes stained, until we didn’t talk. But if my dad called my name from across the room, I knew his voice and answered. Do you answer when your heavenly Father calls your name? Can you even recognize His voice? The bible says that we must pursue God before He is found. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you. When we seek Him, we begin to pray and talk to God. Then you can develop a relationship with our Father, God.

Look at Australia.

Fires have burned 12 million acres, 1400 homes, and killed 480 million animals. The smoke has reached South America. In 2 Peter 3:3-7, it says, “that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lust, and saying, where is the promise of His coming…..But the heavens and earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of the ungodly men.” No one knows the day or time, but it is a sign of His coming. In Isaiah 24:1-7, it says, “behold the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof…..therefore hath the curse, devoureth the earth, they that dwell therein are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.” As it says in the bible, today is the day,now is the time of salvation. Give your heart to Jesus.

The testimony of God.

The testimony of God is to know Jesus and Him crucified. Also to walk humbly before God and man. God will demonstrate through his Spirit who He is and His power. So, that our faith will stand in the power of God. For the wisdom of God is perfect. God-ordained His wisdom before He made the world. No man knows the wisdom of God. He has prepared all things for those that love Him. The Spirit of God reveals god’s wisdom to those that love Him. We have to receive the spirit of God to know those things that God freely gives us. The Spirit of God compares all of man’s wisdom against Spirit God’s. Man thinks that God’s testimony is foolishness, because they are spiritually discerned. God is the judge of all things. So, who can instruct God. But thank God we have the mind of Christ.

Asleep in the Light.

With the New Year starting and looking forward, it’s time to assess our life and see where we are going. Many years ago, I gave my heart to the Lord. I began walking after Jesus. I studied to find out who God really was. I didn’t really know Him. I began reading the bible. I had one at home, one in the car and one at work. I read until God would stop and teach me. One morning, God woke me up with a scripture. It is where John and James and their mother went to Jesus to ask a question(Matt.20). They wanted to sit at the right and left hand of Jesus in heaven. Jesus said, you don’t know what you are asking. The Father has already assigned those seats. Jesus said, but you can be baptized into my baptism. Then Jesus turned to me and said, will you be baptized into my baptism. The baptism of Jesus is death. And He was asking me to be baptized. It took 3 days for me to answer Jesus. I didn’t want to die, but I didn’t want to miss God’s plan. I finally agreed. That was 40 years ago. But my life is required at any time. And I need to be ready to go. As it says in 1 Thess. 5:5-6 “ Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”
So we aren’t to go to sleep in the light of God. But watch and be sober because Jesus comes like a thief in night. Where no man knows the time or the day.

Great Expectations for 2020.

Today is a day of reflections. We look back at this past year and groan for the mistakes we made and the victories in our life. Then we look forward to 2020. What is going to happen this year? Then we look at the things that are carried over to this year. Now we make New Year Resolutions to change things. I’m sorry it is almost a standing joke to make New Year resolutions. The book Great Expectations was written 150 years ago about basically the same thing. The rise and fall and rise again of an individual. He went through grief and pursued life with his heart to achieve his goal. But there is a way that we can achieve Great Expectations. King David, when he was in trouble always went back to what God had given him. And he would speak it out. Not only to bolster his courage, but to remind him of what God has done for him. In Psalms 103, David speak of the benefits God gave to him. A Psalm of David, Bless the Lord, O my soul, all that I am, bless His Holy name. Forget not all His benefits, Who forgives us, Who heals us, Who redeems us, Who crowns us with love and mercy, Who satisfies our mouth with good things and renews our youth like an eagle. (Ps.103:1-5). If you want Great Expectations, then recount the testimonies of the Lord.
