Waiting on the Lord isn’t always easy. In this world of instant gratification, we want it now. We don’t want to wait for anything. But God isn’t bullied or coerced. The gospel has given us hope that God’s word is true. And we can believe in something greater than ourselves. We don’t have the power to change anything. In the this new year, how many resolutions have you broken already? We want something real and powerful enough to help us live this life. With our hope we have expectations. Our faith grew out of our hope. And with our faith, God is changing our lives. We still have hope in Jesus, because without it we wouldn’t believe in God anymore. Hope is so fragile. It can be broken if we don’t take care of it. How do we take care of our hope, by reading the word of God. It is the word of God that changed us in the first place. As we hope in the mercy of God and Jesus, we believe that we will not be ashamed for believing. Because God will defend us to protect this hope we have in Him. Our hope shows the world that God is alive and real. That He is working in our lives and can work in others. Hope is an important part of our life with Jesus in the kingdom of God.
“According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death” (Philippians 1:20).
